Overview

In this role, you will lead packaging sustainability and circularity for ABB's Smart Power portfolio, while maintaining product-level expertise. You’ll ensure compliance with PPWR and evolving regulations, partner with global teams and external stakeholders, and drive eco-design and lifecycle assessment initiatives. You will also support sustainability pilots and contribute to the Center of Excellence LCA & Eco-design, turning regulatory and environmental insights into competitive advantages. This role offers hands-on impact in a global, cross-functional setting and meaningful change in packaging and product sustainability.

Verantwortungsbereiche

• Develop packaging sustainability and circularity requirements for ABB Smart Power portfolio
• Ensure packaging strategies comply with EU PPWR and emerging regulations
• Partner with local packaging leads, suppliers, and external committees on sustainable packaging pilots
• Monitor regulatory trends in packaging sustainability and provide compliance guidance
• Conduct LCAs of products and packaging materials/processes to identify optimizations
• Manage EPD projects to ensure compliance and market credibility
• Drive eco-design implementation and improve environmental KPIs
• Support Division Sustainability targets through cross-functional collaboration

Zentrale Anforderungen

• Bachelor in Design
• 2-4+ years in packaging development with a sustainability focus
• Knowledge of packaging materials and environmental impact
• Experience in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
• Familiarity with Ecodesign methodologies
• Familiarity with regulatory packaging compliance
• Passion for Circularity and Sustainability with an innovative mindset
• Team-player with collaborative, learning-oriented, solutions-focused approach
