Working in the Sustainability Office within the Organisational Support & Improvement team, the Sustainability Reporting & Communications Project Officer will work closely with a broad network of internal stakeholders, as well as external consultants, in delivering the Sustainability Reporting Project workstream.

Through these activities, you will develop hands‑on experience in sustainability strategy creation, implementation and reporting within a dynamic, high‑profile, international scientific and technical environment.

Do you enjoy gathering and analysing information to deliver powerful communications that meet the needs of a variety of stakeholders?

Do you have good project management skills and the ability to share complex data and stories in way that is engaging, inspiring and which supports culture change?

The role will primarily focus on delivering CERN’s biennial sustainability report in 2027 that meets the needs of the Organization’s stakeholders, in particular with regard to the Social and Governance pillars.

You will also contribute to the development of CERN’s Sustainability Strategy, with dedicated actions to raise awareness CERN-wide about sustainability, for example through targeted campaigns and communications that support cultural change around sustainability.

Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.

By the application deadline, you have a master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of professional experience since graduation or a PhD with a maximum of 3 years of professional experience since graduation. You are not eligible with only a bachelor’s degree. You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
