Role Overview
The Sustainability and Environment Officer provides specialist environmental advice for regional projects, ensuring compliance with legislation and achieving positive environmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Provide sound advice to ensure effective environmental management in accordance with State and Federal legislation, including Victorian native vegetation clearing regulations.
Apply technical skills to exercise independent judgment in the development, delivery, monitoring and review of moderately complex environmental investigations.
Undertake technical reviews of environmental data, reports, documents and initiatives to provide feedback and advice to project staff; manage environmental requirements both on‑ and off‑site, including site‑based biodiversity assessments, develop briefs, manage reporting and provide support during and post construction.
Develop initiatives to promote a culture of minimal harm to the environment and identify and implement environmental sustainability principles for moderately complex projects.
