About the Role

Our client, a leading agricultural sustainability organization, is seeking an experienced Agricultural Sustainability Consultant to join their fully remote team. This position is ideal for a motivated professional passionate about promoting environmentally sound and economically viable farming practices. You will be responsible for assessing agricultural operations, developing sustainability strategies, advising on resource management (water, soil, energy), and supporting clients in achieving their sustainability goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental science, agronomy, or sustainable agriculture, coupled with excellent analytical and consulting skills. This role requires the ability to conduct thorough assessments, create actionable plans, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, from farm managers to corporate executives.

As a remote-first professional, you will leverage digital tools to connect with clients and colleagues, driving the adoption of sustainable practices across the agricultural landscape. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive sustainability assessments of agricultural operations, evaluating environmental, social, and economic impacts.
• Develop tailored sustainability strategies and action plans for clients, focusing on areas such as water conservation, soil health, biodiversity, and carbon footprint reduction.
• Advise clients on best practices for sustainable resource management, including efficient irrigation, nutrient management, and waste reduction.
• Assist clients in setting sustainability targets and monitoring progress towards achieving them.
• Stay current with sustainability frameworks, certifications, and regulatory requirements in the agricultural sector.
• Research and recommend innovative technologies and practices that promote agricultural sustainability.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement sustainability initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on sustainable agriculture topics.
• Contribute to the development of case studies and best practice guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural sustainability, environmental consulting, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of environmental principles, resource management, and agricultural systems.
• Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, GRI) and agricultural certifications is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results in a remote work environment.
• Familiarity with common agricultural practices and their environmental impacts.
• Passion for driving positive change in the agricultural sector towards greater sustainability.
• Proficiency in relevant software and digital communication tools.
