Your Role As Head of Sustainability (m/f/d) EUCAN, you will spearhead the development and execution of sustainability initiatives throughout the European region.

You will ensure alignment with Daiichi Sankyo’s global sustainability policies, respond to regional societal challenges, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations, and integrate sustainability into our core business operations.

Reporting directly to the Head of Global Sustainability, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our environmental protection efforts, social contribution programs, and sustainability governance.

Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate environmental protection and climate change initiatives across Europe in alignment with our global strategy. Monitor and report regional sustainability performance transparently, supporting global disclosures and strategic decision-making.

Track regional ESG regulatory requirements, assess their impact, and facilitate compliance through cross-functional collaboration. Develop and implement social contribution programs tailored to community needs, including charitable donations, disaster relief, and volunteering.

Build strong partnerships across business units, manufacturing sites, and corporate functions to embed sustainability in daily operations. Enhance sustainability governance structures and reporting processes for consistency and accountability.

Drive continuous improvement by managing KPIs and initiating initiatives to meet or exceed global sustainability targets. Lead internal communication campaigns and training to foster a culture of sustainability awareness and engagement. Assess stakeholder expectations and regional societal trends to support sustainability strategies and actions.

What We’re Looking For Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Health, Life Sciences, Business, or related fields preferred. Additional ESG or sustainability certifications are advantageous.

At least 10 years of experience in sustainability, CSR, environmental management, or ESG, preferably within pharmaceuticals or life sciences. Proven success in planning and implementing sustainability initiatives at regional or global scales. Experience working in a global matrix organization with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Knowledge of key sustainability reporting frameworks such as TCFD, GRI, SSBJ, and CSRD. Understanding of pharmaceutical industry compliance and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, analytical, project management, and communication skills. Fluency in English; proficiency in German and/or Japanese is a plus. Why work with us?
