Key Responsibilities

• Develop and champion the firm's sustainability vision and strategy for architectural projects.
• Lead the assessment and implementation of energy-efficient design solutions, renewable energy systems, and water conservation measures.
• Oversee the process for achieving green building certifications such as Green Star SA , LEED, or EDGE, ensuring successful outcomes.
• Conduct and interpret environmental performance analyses, including energy modeling and life cycle assessments.
• Provide expert guidance and technical support to design teams on sustainable materials, construction techniques, and indoor environmental quality.
• Stay updated on the latest innovations, regulations, and industry trends in sustainable architecture and contribute to thought leadership.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Architecture, Environmental Science, or a related field with a specialization in sustainability.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in architectural sustainability consulting, with a strong emphasis on leading initiatives.
• Demonstrated success in managing and achieving multiple green building certifications.
• Expertise in sustainability assessment tools, energy modeling software (e.g., IES VE ), and building performance simulation.
• In-depth knowledge of South African building regulations and sustainability frameworks.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, especially in a remote setting.
