Your Responsibilities

• Will Include:

• ESG Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive, company-wide ESG strategy that aligns with our core business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

• Carbon Footprint Management: Establish methodologies to measure, monitor, and report on our global carbon footprint and other key environmental metrics, identifying key areas for reduction.

• Green Solutions Innovation: Collaborate with our operations and strategy teams to research, pilot, and scale sustainable logistics solutions, including alternative fuels, route optimization, and eco-friendly packaging.

• Reporting and Disclosure: Lead the annual sustainability reporting process, ensuring transparency and compliance with global frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB) for our clients, investors, and regulatory bodies.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as our primary expert on sustainability, engaging with clients, partners, and industry groups to champion environmentally conscious practices and build coalitions for change.

• Policy and Advocacy: Stay ahead of emerging environmental regulations and trends, advising leadership and ensuring Houger remains a proactive leader in the sustainable logistics space.

Who We Are Looking For

We are searching for a passionate and determined individual who sees challenges as opportunities and is driven to make a positive impact on the people and planet of tomorrow.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• 5+ years of professional experience in a corporate sustainability, ESG, or environmental management role.

• Deep understanding of ESG principles, climate science, and sustainability reporting frameworks.

• Proven track record of developing and executing successful sustainability projects and initiatives.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.

• Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of inspiring change across all levels of the organization.

• Fluent in English; proficiency in German is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within the transportation, logistics, or supply chain industry.

• A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Experience with carbon accounting and life cycle assessments (LCAs).
